Armstrong Maple ("Armstrong") Acer x freemanii Believed to be a hybrid of the Silver and Red Maple. Adapts over a wide range of soils. Good park or street tree. Upright, columnar habit of growth. Tolerates heat and drought. Silvery-grey bark. Orange-red color in the fall. Matures at 50-65'; 15-20' spread. (zone 4-6) Needs full sunlight. |
