Exceptional, vigorous grower with upright-oval form and a strong branching habit. Thick, leathery, dark green foliage turns orange to scarlet in fall. Color may vary depending on planting site. The waxy coating on the leaves helps protect them from hot, windy and dry conditions in the summer. Requires well-drained soil and adequate moisture. This tree works well in street projects or areas with high heat reflections. Drought tolerant. Matures 55-75'; 40-50' spread. (zone 4-7) Needs full sunlight. |
