Royal Frost River Birch Betula x (hybrid)
An improved cultivar developed by crossing 'Crimson Frost' to 'Whitespire'. Attractive burgundy red foliage contrast nicely with the creamy white exfoliating bark. Fall foliage is a good yellow, orange-red. Grown in sunny location, it can also tolerate moist, heavy soils. Much faster growing with a stronger and straighter trunk than Crimson Frost. Matures at 30-40'; 15-20' spread. (zone 4) Needs full sunlight. |
