Washington Hawthorn Crataegus phaenopyrum Forms a dense, broad, oval to rounded tree. Fall foliage is orange to scarlet. White flowers clusters appear in the spring. Glossy red fruit clusters persist all winter if not eaten by birds. Resistant to fireblight and rust. Very adaptable. Makes a good specimen plant, screen or tall hedge. 1/2" long thorns. Matures at 25-30'; 20-25' spread. (zone 4-8) Needs full sunlight. |
